My passion for nutrition and wellness has lead me down this journey to share my knowledge and educate my clients that food is medicine AND not the enemy. Creating a healthy relationship with food, setting realistic goals whether dietary or lifestyle, eating real food and eliminating processed foods can positively impact your health, lose weight, gain confidence and age gracefully.
A little background Insight:
Before launching my nutrition health coaching business TASTE N DASH HEALTH, my overall diet and lifestyle were far from healthy. In my twenties, I struggled with emotional eating that turned into a full blown eating disorder of binge and purging. Food was my drug of choice and binge eating was my escape to cope with the daily pressure and negative feelings I had put on myself. Turning to food for comfort allowed me to suppress my feelings and not face my reality. I was in a very dark place and not to mention 20 pounds heavier, so body image was another pain point, hence, the purging. It was a constant battle to lose the weight by trying every fad diet and restricting calories which only led me to crazy binge/purge episodes. Food was my enemy and my eating disorder was my coping mechanism.
As I continued down this destructive path I was determined to overcome, but I was too embarrassed to tell anyone my dirty little secret which made it more difficult to seek out professional help or having the proper tools to heal.
So what changed? How did I recover?
It wasn’t easy, it took determination that came with a few relapses but eventually, I stopped using food as a coping mechanism. I made a conscious effort to look deep inside at the root cause of my eating disorder, made some major lifestyle changes, healed my relationship with food, incorporated whole foods and eliminated processed foods, and dropped the 20 pounds.

I practice a holistic approach to health and nutrition, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercise? Is your diet filled with processed foods and full of added sugar causing slow digestion and bloat?
As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health and narrow down what is truly impacting you from reaching your goals to lose weight, eat healthy and overcome emotional eating.
